one of the blocks has a top corner piece split off (see close up pic) but does not interfere with any function
i turned that side towards the inside and it was not noticed (this is now our secret)
use for extra storage space underneath and lifting the seating or table height
easier access to clean under whatever you use them on
i forgot these were raising the futon bed until i sold them
there was no sway, slip or slide happening. very stable. i used these on carpet
